Funeral of HRH Prince Philip – University reschedules Annual Public Meeting

Tuesday 13 April 2021

The University of St Andrews is to reschedule its Annual Public Meeting, which had been planned for Saturday 17 April, as a mark of respect for the funeral that day of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

The Annual Public Meeting will now take place one week later, on Saturday 24 April, from 5pm to 6pm. Details of the rearranged meeting can be found on the University web pages.

Events due to be held on Saturday 17 April as part of the University’s Virtual Alumni Weekend will also be rescheduled. Details of all rearranged events can be found on the St Andrews Alumni web pages. Alumni Weekend events planned for Friday 16 and Sunday 18 April will proceed as planned.

The Annual Public Meeting for 2021 is open to all students, staff and members of the public. It will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams.

This event is an integral component of the University’s commitment to Social Responsibility as outlined in the University Strategy 2018 to 2023, and is designed to enable our key stakeholders, partners and neighbours to learn more about our current activities and ambitions.

Updates on University business will be provided by the Principal and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sally Mapstone FRSE; the Senior Lay Member of the University Court, Catherine Stihler OBE; and the President of the Students’ Association, Dan Marshall.

Short opening remarks will address the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on our University, and the continuing delivery of the University Strategy. A question and answer session will follow, moderated by Stephen Gethins, Professor of Practice in the School of International Relations.

Audience members are invited to submit questions in advance of the event. Please send your question to the Court Office by noon on Friday 23 April, alongside your name and, where applicable, your relationship to the University, via [email protected].

A summary of questions and answers will be published following the event on the University Court web pages.

Please register online to attend this event (you do not require a Teams Account to attend this meeting).
