Opening doors to higher education

Monday 21 June 2004

The opportunities for mature or part-time students to embark on a University of St Andrews degree are to be highlighted at an evening event next week (Wednesday 30 June 2004).

Opening Doors, organised by the Access Centre, will showcase what the University can offer to mature students, or those considering a part-time, evening degree.

The first event of its kind, the evening will supply information about returning to study, the courses available, how to apply, opportunities for part-time study and subsequent career prospects. The evening will also offer advice on moving from college to university and financing studies.

Nicky Haxell, Part-time Degree Co- ordinator said, “The event has been designed to offer advice on all aspects of returning to study or embarking on a part-time degree, from the course choices available to financing your degree. We’d urge anyone with a hankering to embark on higher education to come along and hear more about the range of opportunities open to them”.

The drop-in event will be held on Wednesday 30 June 2004, between 4 and 8pm, in Mansefield, Market Street (opposite Fife Council offices).

Refreshments will be available.
