US Ambassador to lecture in St Andrews

Mr Louis Susman, the current United States Ambassador to United Kingdom, will visit the University of St Andrews on Monday 18 April 2011 to give a lecture to staff and students.

Ambassador Susman will give a lecture entitled ‘US Foreign Policy and the Role of Young People in a Changing World’. He’s expected to talk generally about US Foreign policy as well as looking at the way young people and social media have played a key role in recent events in North Africa and the Middle-East.

Interest in the lecture has been considerable – over 1,000 people applied for 350 available tickets.

Mr Susman will be introduced by Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Louise Richardson. During his visit he will also meet and have lunch with students.
