On location

The historic setting and ancient university buildings make St Andrews a popular choice for film locations and photo shoots. The University has been used for feature films, TV dramas and documentaries, adverts, fashion shoots, theatrical productions and events.

The University of St Andrews owns a substantial collection of unique and historic buildings dating from the 16th century to the present day, providing a wide range of both interior and exterior locations.

Please note that the University is a full-time academic institution, and as such there are restrictions regarding the availability of certain locations, particularly during teaching weeks.

To make a filming or photography request, or for more information on locations, fees and availability, please email Gayle McIntyre (Senior Visual Communications Manager), Ed Broughton (Video Producer) or Michal Zagorski ( Post Production Editor) on [email protected].
