The University of St Andrews has been awarded £950,000 from Scotland’s Public Sector Heat Decarbonisation Fund to support a pioneering conservation and sustainability project at New College in the heart of the town.
The University has submitted plans to Fife Council to redevelop the former Madras College site on South Street, preserving the historic building and adding new facilities.
A former St Andrews secondary pupil has played a leading role in taking a wrecking ball to his old school.
Architects WilkinsonEyre will produce designs for the University's flagship New College project on the site of the distinctive Madras College in the historic centre of St Andrews.
