Chembus gears up for week of chemistry fun
A mobile chemistry lab is touring various schools throughout Tayside and Fife next week (Monday 20 – Friday 24 November 2000).
Run by the Tayside Local Section of the Royal Society of Chemistry with input from the University of St Andrews, the venture is aimed at demonstrating the excitement of chemistry and encouraging first and second year pupils to become the scientists of the future. Over the five day period, the bus will visit pupils in Forfar, Brechin, Methil, Lochgelly, Perth, Inverkeithing, Dundee and Carnoustie. The magic and excitement of exploring chemistry will be revealed in a series of hands-on demonstrations, mini-experiments and activities. The experiments have been thoroughly tested and will be fully supervised.
The events will be coordinated by Dr Joe Crayston and Dr Nigel Botting of the School of Chemistry. Further information and pictures can be found at http://ch- www.st-and.ac.uk/staff/jac/rsc- tayside/chembus99/.
