Margaret Marshall OBE and Taufa Vakatale were made honorary graduates of the University of St Andrews today (Tuesday 23 June 2009) as part of this year’s summer graduations.

Scottish soprano Margaret Marshall received an OBE for services to music in 1999, and the James Gulliver Award for Performing Arts in Scotland in 1991. She was made a Doctor of Music.

Fijian politician and educator, antinuclear activist and feminist, Ms Vakatale, pictured above with Chancellor Sir Menzies Campell and Principal and Vice-Chancellor Dr Louise Richardson, was made a Doctor of Letters.
