Honorary degrees 25 June 2009

Writer Stephen Donaldson and Bishop of Durham, the Rt Rev Dr Thomas Wright, were made honorary graduates of the University of St Andrews this morning (Thursday 25 June 2009).  They are pictured above with the Principal and Vice-Chancellor Dr Louise Richardson, Professor Trevor Hart and Dean of Divinity Professor Jim Davila. Mr Donaldson was made a Doctor of Letters, whilst the Rt Rev Dr Wright was made a Doctor of Divinity.

During this afternoon’s ceremony, theoretical physicist Professor David Pines (pictured below with laureator Professor Andrew Mackenzie and Dr Louise Richardson) was made a Doctor of Science.
