Principal welcomes new website

The Principal of the University of St Andrews will be presenting an award today to postgraduate student Tom Beddard for his design of a new homepage for the University website.

Dr Brian Lang, Principal of the University says: “I welcome the rebirth of the University of St Andrews web site.The University is aware of just how significant is an informative, but also stimulating and attractive, web presence. Just as St Andrews is an international university by virtue of its international staff (50 countries represented) and students (from 75 countries), so it recognises it has global audiences who want up to date information about us. We must therefore communicate globally. This web site is the response to our wish, and to a worldwide expectation, that information about the University of St Andrews is instantly available on a seven day week, twenty-four hour day basis. I hope you will enjoy visiting us!”
