The role of mathematics in cricket bats has been highlighted by a University of St Andrews mathematician who has been awarded a prestigious prize for her honours project.
Manchester United Manager Sir Alex Ferguson, University of St Andrews Rector Andrew Neil and Commissioner for Public Appointments Dame Rennie Fritchie are to be awarded honorary degrees next month.
Over sixty students from across Scotland were among those awarded bursaries from the University of St Andrews yesterday (Wednesday 9th October).
The Sunday Times University Guide has named the University of St Andrews as UK University of the Year.
A mature student studying for a part-time evening degree at the University of St Andrews has been rewarded for the dedication she has demonstrated over the last year.
