Leading historians gather in St Andrews for debate on Scottish identity.
A biography on Mary, Queen of Scots by an honorary Professor at the University of St Andrews, is to be awarded a prestigious Whitbread prize.
An expert on the life of Mary Queen of Scots will give a lecture on 'the unluckiest ruler in British history' in St Andrews today - concentrating solely on her time spent in the Fife town.
The University has been honoured for looking after two of Scotland's special trees.
