The initial closing date for the St Andrews Prize, an internationally acclaimed initiative aimed at finding new and inspiring ideas to help the environment, is fast approaching. Launched in September 2000, the annual initiative, which is co- sponsored by the University and international energy company Conoco, is offering $25,000, a medal and the encouragement of government, business and academic institutions in return for an innovative and original solution to an environmental problem. There will be additional awards, each of $5,000, for the runners-up.
