Three top Scots are to be awarded honorary degrees by the University of St Andrews later this month: renowned fiddler Aly Bain, The Right Hon. Lady Cosgrove, Senator of the College of Justice and the Very Reverend Iain MacMillan, Minister of St Giles', the High Kirk of Edinburgh.

The University has further strengthened its links with Scottish Enterprise (SE) Fife with the appointment of Principal and Vice-Chancellor Dr Brian Lang to their board.

The University of St Andrews is to award distinguished politician and former Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament, Lord David Steel, an honorary degree.
An historic agreement was signed today (Wednesday 14th May, 2003) between three Scottish and six French Universities to establish joint PhD programmes.
Students will be rewarded for their creative writing skills today (Tuesday 6th May, 2003) at the University of St Andrew's Student Essay Competition Awards Ceremony.
