An expert on historic buildings, a former chairman of the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council (SHEFC) and a Scottish composer will receive honorary degrees from the University of St Andrews on St Andrews Day, Thursday November 30th 2006.

Manchester United Manager Sir Alex Ferguson, University of St Andrews Rector Andrew Neil and Commissioner for Public Appointments Dame Rennie Fritchie are to be awarded honorary degrees next month.
Musical, political and medical achievers, sixty-five students and eight academics are among those receiving formal recognition at a St Andrew's Day ceremony later this month (St Andrew's Day - Friday 30 November 2001).
Three successful Scots, fourteen academics and around forty students will receive formal recognition of their achievements next week (St Andrew's Day - Thursday 30 November 2000). As well as the conferment of student degrees, the afternoon event in Younger Hall, North Street, St Andrews will see the induction of University professors (details attached) and the presentation of honorary degrees to three distinguished Scottish figures.
A day long celebration of the Patron Saint of Scotland is to be held in St Andrews organised jointly by Scotland's first University, Fife Council and the local community.
