Former Director of The Wellcome Trust, Dame Bridget Ogilvie, is to receive an honorary degree from the University of St Andrews.
Scots writer, broadcaster and journalist Sheena McDonald is to receive an honorary degree from the University of St Andrews.
Three environmental projects - from Africa, India and the UK - have been shortlisted for the prestigious St Andrews Prize.
The Principal of the University of St Andrews will be presenting an award today to postgraduate student Tom Beddard for his design of a new homepage for the University website.

The Museum Collections of the University of St Andrews have been awarded Registered Museum status.
A £2 million, five year funding package has been awarded to the Universities of St Andrews and Heriot-Watt to develop a new Masters degree aimed at meeting the needs of Scotland's booming photonics telecommunications industry.
Three successful Scots, fourteen academics and around forty students will receive formal recognition of their achievements next week (St Andrew's Day - Thursday 30 November 2000). As well as the conferment of student degrees, the afternoon event in Younger Hall, North Street, St Andrews will see the induction of University professors (details attached) and the presentation of honorary degrees to three distinguished Scottish figures.
